HOW i WORK
I look forward to providing you with a supportive, safe, and non-judgmental space where you can get in touch with your emotions and desires, come to know and accept yourself for who you are, and figure out how to live a more authentic life.
My work is guided by the principles of Acceptance and Commitment therapy, which emphasizes shifting your perspective away from the idea that the key to happiness is to never feel upset. In fact, looking carefully at why we are hurting and how we are struggling in our lives, and leaning INTO our hurt places, can be the key to reducing our pain. I can help you to do this important and powerful work, while also helping you to develop ways to cope with life’s stresses in healthy ways. Most of all, I focus on getting to know you and your story, in order to work with you to figure out how you can start to live the life you want.
I have a diverse set of skills and tools that I integrate into treatment as appropriate, including: EFT Tapping, mindfulness, meditation, and energy and sound healing practices. Depending on your needs, I may also work with you to create behavioral plans (including worksheets and homework) in order to reduce specific symptoms of depression, anxiety and worry.
I have specific expertise in working with college students, helping them to navigate one of the most stressful and difficult periods of life. I also specialize in working with visual and performing artists, people who are having difficulty in their relationships (romantic or platonic), BIPOC women, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
I look forward to meeting you!
